About Farah Shirazi

Farah Shirazi is a licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) in Maryland and a Licensed Graduate Social Worker (LGSW) in DC. With a wealth of experience working with children, adolescents, emerging adults, and families, she is a passionate advocate for early intervention and the therapeutic power of play. Farah integrates an empathic, attuned approach with evidence-based, relationship-focused play therapy techniques that engage all five senses.

Farah specializes in addressing various challenges, including anxiety, neurodiversity, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorders, sensory integration, mood/self-esteem issues, OCD, PANDAS, social skills deficits, interpersonal conflict, trauma, attachment trauma, separation, and divorce. She respects and supports her clients' unique strengths, resilience, cultures, and identities.

Farah uses creative methods such as art, movement, and music in her therapy sessions. She is trained in trauma-informed EMDR and is pursuing credentials as a Registered Play Therapist (RPT™) and a Certified Theraplay® practitioner. Her treatment approach blends family systems, strengths-based, mindfulness, and cognitive-behavioral interventions to create a warm and accepting space for healing and growth.

In her current role at Jonah Green and Associates, LLC, Farah conducts play therapy sessions with children aged 3-18 to address a variety of social, emotional, and developmental concerns. She collaborates closely with parents, caregivers, and other professionals to provide holistic care and support families in thriving.
